I received some very disappointing news yesterday when an EA rep told me that there will be no web support for online Madden Leagues or online NCAA Dynasties this year through EASW (EA Sportsworld). This is a big blow to the online community and all of those looking forward to seeing stats, heisman race, and standings online.
I personally do not understand how you can continue to make the online community an afterthought when it comes to online features for Madden and NCAA. Some 'EA Haters' say that this is what you get when you don't have competition in your market and right now I can't really argue with that. 2K has had online leagues with full web support since 2K5 and I'm starting to believe that if EA had a rival out there making online features, we would have been had online leagues with web support by now. Instead we are once again forgotten. Let's not forget that it doesn't matter how many online features you have, if you can't play a lag free game you won't even enjoy it. Ask those who played 2K's baseball game online.
I also want to point out that we (online players) only make up a small percentage of all Madden buyers. With that said, I just wish EA would stop trying to make gimmicky stuff like "EA Rewind" and put more resources on online features.
Stop trying to cater to people who haven't picked up your game in 20 years and give back to the guys who have been loyal throughout the years.
