Fear The Wildcat In Madden 10

Sgibs and ZFarls are pretty sure that EA has adressed the main concerns of this article. Can't wait for Madden 10!
1. The Wild Cat is a GREAT idea, only it needs to be implemented as it is run in real life. I foresee a potential oversight by EA, what might that be you are probably wondering? Well on Sundays when the Dolphins run the WildCat Chad Pennington was STILL on the field. He would just line up at WR. This needs to be implemented in Madden. If you want to run the wildcat then your QB NEEDS to be lineup as a WR. The reason for this being is that when you audible to another formation it should make your QB now move to the QB. This would prevent any type of "glitchy" behavior from audibling up and down.
If the above is not mentioned expect a whole lot of the following: come out in Wildcat with Chris Johnson as your QB. Audible to QB Sneak/ 4 WR/ Fullhouse etc. This could cause a lot of headaches. EA needs to be aware of this small yet large addition to the game. We will do everything we can to ensure they are aware of this!
2. Titans- If Vince Young can wield the ball and be nearly as effective as a running back than this formation could backfire. They already have the insanely fast Chris Johnson at RB and he will be used accordingly. However, if Young can give them even a decent throwing threat than expect to see this team overused online.
3. Lack of, or too many plays ... The wildcat was broken out and evolved upon week after week with some creative variations. It will be interesting to see the creations EA intends us to use. (4 plays or 8?) and then what users can create from switches, flips, audibles, pitches, playing the game upside-down and all that jazz. If you build it they will glitch.
4. Copy cat league, Copycat game- As we see in the NFL when something works, everyone starts doing it. In madden the same can be said of glitches, money plays and teams. See Run n Gun and Dallas Cowboys. This will hopefully not be the one formation that everyone goes to all game mostly because of its unpredictability.
I agree that when someone comes out in the wildcat in 3rd and 2 I should be very scared. But on 3rd and 15 it shouldn't be the same case.
5. Making crappy players superstars. (See Isiah Stanback) The former Washington qb had a decent ability to throw due to him playing qb in college. Seeing as how Run DMC ran this formation in college what will his rating be? How will the ratings master know what to give Ronny Brown on THA? These fragile ratings and multi tasking of players becomes huge in Madden. What about Pat White, Brad Smith, Matt Jones, and other players who have played some qb and now may be moving on? If Eric Crouch had only come out a few years later there may have been a place for one of the top 10 college football players of all time.
Anyway, I am glad to see Madden reflecting real life, however, I hope they acknowledge the potential dangers of the formation and are quick to make proper changes if they become dominant online. The defense is always 2 months behind the offense so hopefully it won't be an issue. However when you mess with a Wildcat you must always beware!
