"EA Sports, It's in the game... sometime..."

I am tired of gimmick football! Just once I wish EA would build on the Madden series instead of taking something away and adding it back in future versions and calling it "new". This fan base is not stupid, but at the same time we really have no choice. I learned a long time ago that if you really do not like something it is because you actually tried it, make sense? An example of this is anyone that HATES the 2K series may not have given it a real chance. The best thing that 2K brought to the table was not just "presentation" but was really competition. Madden has had the liscence for the NFL for 4 years and still not a consistent effort across the board of something to make me say "WOW". I do not hate Madden, and I do not think that 2K is the greatest thing ever, but I do believe that if I am going to pay $60 for a game, I should have the best product possible. These are the reasons, in part that I would love to see EA give up the liscense or merge with 2K. The best of both worlds would be awesome! As far as college football I feel the same but I must admit, I have way more fun with NCAA for a longer time than I do with Madden. There is just a little more realism to the game, example you say; well on NCAA you will not win a National title right away with a less talented Army squad and the games are harder if you have a small school, you really have to build up your team. Isn't that what this is all about, simulation, fun, and challenge? On Madden with minor tweaks I can win the Superbowl with, brace yourself, my Detroit Lions in the 1st year, this is not a testament to skill as much as it is a slap in the face to the true game of football. This would never happen, and before you say in 2008 the Dolphins, and Falcons did it, think it over they did improve, but did not win a playoff game. This stuff does not happen overnight. All I am saying you have the only game in town, it WILL NOT be the greatest football sim ever, it may be the best Madden ever, but even that falls short. I am still partial to Madden 2000, the one that opened with Ludacris, had proposed trades and a built in celebration for Barry breaking Walter Paytons' rush record, and Madden 2006 which was the top of last Gen systems for Madden. Give me real football, no gimmicks, solid gameplay, presentation and A.I. that adapt, and the chance to not have gimme plays due to how high my guy can jump or how fast he is, I want to HAVE to read the defese react when plays break down and adjust when Peyton Manning does when I am on D, let me see the hole and hit it without some dude 4 yards away making a phantom tackle, let blockers block, and even though anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday, if I have to take my Lions into Foxboro to beat Brady and the Pats let me earn it by outcoaching "the Hoody" and executing agreat gameplan. Madden on next gen (Xbox360, Ps3) has been horrible overall, and even though it has gotten better, it is not where it should be. Let me know what you think...
