Yesterday the buzz was about EA finally confirming that Madden 10 will come to the iPhone and iPod Touch with Screenshots of the famous football classic. EA promises that the app will be available “in time for opening day,” which is September 10.

Madden 10 App for iPhone and iPod Touch
Taking a look at some of the screenshots, it looks like there is a virtual D-Pad on the left and then a series of icons in the bottom right of the screen. Looks like a juke left, juke right, speed burst, truck stick, and spin move. I think the stopwatch icon is used to adjust the speed of your game whenever you want, giving you time to pick the best moves for each play.

Brett Favre made it into the roster for the iPhone.
This screenshot looks like they assign a color circle around a receiver depending on how open he is. Looks like there is a throwaway icon and another stopwatch like in the previous screenshots.

I wonder how fast Vick is on the iPhone app?
From reports here are some of the features:
- full rosters of all 32 licensed teams
- authentic stadiums
- draw hot routes for passing plays
- play a full season with your favorite team, complete with trades, stats, and player rewards
- free agent pools accessible
- Broadcast commentary from John Madden, Chris Collinsworth, and Tom Hammond
I’m looking forward to this app, but I’m still waiting for the Online App that was supposed to accompany the game and help you manage your online franchise. As much as I want this app to come out opening day I have a hard time believing EA will make that deadline.
