With all the Michael Vick talks in the Madden Community I came upon another great article, this one chronicles the rise and fall of Michael Vick in Madden written by Madden Bible.

How Vick became the best videogame force in history

Dominating Speed
Ability to use RS to playmaker Pass
Lack of good defensive tools and plays to slow him down
A good enough supporting cast of players
Tremendous THP

The article goes on to state the reasons why Vick is done and how he might be utilized in Madden 10.

The Buzz around Madden on Twitter the last couple of days has been that one WR from Seattle is disgusted with his ratings so much that he is boycotting Madden 10.  T.J. Houshmanzadeh claims that he is so upset with EA and his 91 rating on Madden 10 that he will not play it this year until they get his rating right.

Ok, so this is laughable at best and TJ needs to check into things before he stops playing Madden; which he claims he is a big fan of and very good at. In an interview with Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio TJ said the following:

“Man, they don’t get my rating right … I just looked at the game and they have this wrong and that wrong. And I understand I averaged 10 yards a catch (in 2008), but it’s the offense, man, not me.”

“I’m not playing Madden no more, until they get my rating right.  It might be a little pouting too. … I used to be the best in the world at Madden, so I’m going to miss not playing it. But until they do me right, I’m not playing it no more.”

Fred from PastaPadre noted in a recent article that he is the 6th best WR in the NFC.

Just how “awful” is Houshmandzadeh’s rating? It is a paltry 91 overall, which slots him in as the 6th best WR in the NFC. Who’s rated ahead of him you ask? Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin, Roddy White, and Calvin Johnson. All of which, are better than T.J.

What more do you want TJ?  All the ratings have gone down this year for everyone and what Donny More did to Deangelo Hall is just rediculous.

Want to bring more heat on the QB and dominate the rest of 09?  Well Sgibs7 of Madden Bible puts out Part 2 of his ‘Dominant Dime Defense’.

In this entry he shows you another way to bring the heat from the Dime DB Blitz.

This play will 100% Bring it! The pressure will be coming from all sides. The reason we like to manually blitz both the DT and the DE’s is that this will occupy specific offensive linemen for us. The key is for both tackles to be occupied by our defenders. When we accomplish this we can come off the edge screaming!. This will either force our opponent to step up into the pocket, where more pressure is coming, or to roll to the opposite side,where more pressure is coming as well. Don’t get to comfortable calling this play all game. I will tell you this it can be beat. Typically the way I like to play defense is I will keep calling a play until my opponent PROVES to me thathe can consistently handle the pressure, once he does that I will start mixing it up more and try to confuse him to get my sacks. What you need to look for when calling this defense:

• Snap and lob type passes
• If they can manage to avoid the instant pressure, one on one coverage can be RC on all day.
• Drags
• Slants
• HB/FB routes
• This defensive can be weak against the run. If we see our opponent audibleing to beat us with the run, we want to audible to 1-5-5and use our run defense from this set.

Our friend at Madden Bible; SGibs7, goes into detail how to create a Dominant Dime Defense.  He’s very detailed and a very good read.

It is very important to understand that in order for our scheme to be the most successful we are going to want to come out in dime defense. You may be asking why? The reason we do this is because we manage to fully grasp our teams biggest strengths in all areas. We manage to have 6DB’s 3 LB’s and our 2 most athletic DE’s on the field. We certainly have the “beef” to stuff the run but still have the versatility to bring pressure with our speediest defenders. It is really a great balance. I also want to note that we are going to be controlling the DB on the right side of the screen (our 4th CB in the depth chart) on every play. A key to success is being able to make every play look the same. When we do this we can confuse our opponent.

I’ve been to a couple of tournaments this past year and without a doubt the most used team was the Dallas Cowboys.  With their speed, big TE, big WR, and dominant defense, will they be the team in Madden 10.  ZFarles of Madden Bible explains why this year will be no different.

With each new Madden release comes new teams, new plays, and new schemes. Every new season dawns a new day, a resurrection, the rebirth of each and every one of our games. We have hope, we have excitement, and then we have the Madden 2010 Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately for Madden 2010 we may still be seeing the Cowboys, and seeing them a lot. The 2010 squad appears to pick up where the 09 team left off virtually, despite failing to meet real world expectations. Ultimately, its would seem not even the departure of Terrell Owens will slow this team down.
Jerry Jones must be a Madden fan, why else would they have all these Madden studs!

The 2010 Cowboys are poised and ready to be Americas team!
